2026 April Minutes

Meeting called to order at 7:01pm

Members Present: Mark, Kevin, Fletch, Jason, Troy, Chris, Bob, Randy, Hayden, Evan, Jeff, John, Mike R., Ron, Ryan, Leslie, Sophie, Mike H., Robert, Curt

Minutes: March minutes were read and approved.

Treasurer’s Report:
Last Month Balance: $4818.40 Charity: $627.00
This Month Balance: $2333.40 Charity: $692.00

Old Business:

  1. Raffle
    • Mark confirmed the Tom was able to get 2 rods. Falcon Bucco
    • Mark will try and get the tickets printed asap may have them for the CAST for Kids event.
    • Jason will contact Walmart as a possible location to sell tickets in the Castorville area
  2. CAST for Kids
    • Date April 19
    • Shore Volunteers – Everyone needs to register – https://castforkids.org/event/morganswonderland/
    • Ron Stevenson reported total income of $33,400 and expenses of $25,728 since 2019 for CAST for Kids.
    • Pending $1,500 donation from Sam’s Club expected to increase event funds.
    • Pavilion rental costs changed to hourly; reimbursement process confirmed with CAST coordinator.
    • Lunch donated by Domino’s
    • Event schedule adjusted to start at 7:30 AM for setup, with kids arriving at 8:30 AM and awards at noon.
    • Mark and Kevin Edwards volunteered to provide ice and tackle supplies respectively.
    • Randy volunteered to provide wieners and pepperoni slices from Sam Club
    • Tiff will handle event photography as usual.
    • Kindall volunteered to be MC again.
    • Ron will bring the PA system

New Business:

South Region Update:

  1. News – March 25-26 at Conroe, with sign-ups available online.

Tournament Director’s Report:

  1. Tournament number 3 – LBJ – 3rd 6.10lbs w/ BB 4.34 Geno, 2nd 6.96lbs Mike R, 1st 9.53lbs Fletch
  2. Tournament number 4 – LBJ – 3rd 7.23lbs Geno, 2nd 7.88lbs Bob, 1st 7.98lbs w/ BB 4.55lbs Hayden
  3. Tournament number 5 – Travis
    • Sat 6:45 – 3, Sun 6:45 – 1
    • Weight in Mansfield Dam
    • Bring Fish to scales
